Sense of Independence
Special rooms stimulate the senses of residents with neuromuscular
impairments.

"Jul 4, 2006 — From a pool of plastic balls, two residents of the Margaret E.
Moul Home in West Manchester Township watched a yellow sun and purple waves
float across a wall.
One grabbed sparkling fiber optic strings that hung from the ceiling.
She laughed.
The sound of waves smacking sand and dim lighting created a peaceful retreat.
For a half-hour the residents were free of wheelchairs.
"You can think about being at the beach," Teresa Rash, the home's director of
therapy and recreation, told 22-year-old resident Gwen Snyder."
