to recent publicity, private funds are pouring in to help Kevin, a 12-year-old
boy who suffers from cerebral palsy and blindness, among other disorders, and
was denied special thermal blankets by the state. It's a wonderful example of
our community's giving spirit.
What so many of these generous citizens don't know, however, is that Kevin's
story is just one example of hundreds of other seriously disabled individuals
across Florida who are being denied critical services by the state. This is just
the tip of a giant iceberg.''
