"VISALIA — Maru Yanes gently caressed her
13-year-old son's hand as the boy lay on an air mattress in the living room
Tuesday evening.
Josue Yanes' big eyes stared quietly at his mother. A purple cast wrapped around
his left leg from midthigh to ankle.
About a week ago, Josue's school bus was in an accident. After he was checked at
the scene for injuries, Josue was put on another bus and taken to school.
Josue, who has cerebral palsy, can't speak, so he couldn't tell anyone if he was
hurt. Once he got to school, his teacher noticed the boy appeared to have a
problem.
An X-ray showed that Josue's leg was broken."
